Cape May is right in Brigantine's backyard and is really a great place to visit. My wife and I make it a point to spend time there every year for a short get-a-way. We try out different hotels, eat at great restaurants, ride bikes, take trolley tours and never leave without taking the horse and buggy carriage ride. We enjoy learning about the rich history of this beautiful resort. We usually do this right before or right after the busy season to avoid the crowds that pour into town during the summer. That's our advantage of living so close.
